SPARK

We are hosting an EIGHT-WEEK family workshop to build better lives through knowledge, support and enrichment!

“Boysville gave me a family.  The orphan is now a son.”

Senior Chief Petty Officer, John Daniel Gee
“I lived at Ridgeway with the blessing of Frank & Rosa Buggs has houseparents. I can say Boysville changed my life. I’m now a college graduate, a father, and a small business owner. Wouldn’t change it for anything.”
Jeremy R. McClintock

“Well I lived there all through my elementary school years in the 80’s it was amazing place was surely glad I was able have safe place and people to care about me Kris and Karla was one best house parents that i had pleasure of knowing. I lived there when first time girls started to live they had the one big house.”

Joshua Cherry

“Growing up and being taken from my family was the hardest thing for me. But when i went to Boysville it changed my life forever along with my brother and sister they thought me so much kept me busy and having the houseparents there when you didn’t have your own parents. If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be the person that i am today and i thank them for everything they have done for me.”

WHERE HEALING BEGINS

Boysville Children’s Home and Shelter, the Home with a Heart, was founded in 1943 as a result of Rev. Don Holiman’s observation of orphaned, homeless and abandoned boys sleeping in San Antonio’s Travis Park. Today, we provide a continuum of trauma-informed services and care for children and caregivers affected by abuse, neglect, and family crisis. Through holistic wrap-around services, we provide each child the opportunity to heal from past trauma while focusing on their future.

Boysville Spring/Summer 2023 Newsletter

This time of year we celebrate a new chapter for our Graduates and honor them for all they have accomplished. Each has overcome obstacles, grown in maturity and become the young adults they were meant to be. We could not be more proud of you Destiny, Skye, David and Seth.

Boysville 2022 Annual Report

These days, when you meet Skye she is happy, kind, and outgoing. In her own words she has a positive spirit, she is always here to help, and she absolutely loves to talk. Skye is a big sister, and when she first arrived here at Boysville she thought that meant she was her siblings’ caretaker.

Boysville Fall/Winter 2022 Newsletter

At age 16, Jareli arrived at our Emergency Shelter right before Christmas. With short hair, broken English, and low self-esteem, Jareli had little faith in adults. Despite her past pleas for help, many adults failed to answer until she met Jennifer and Tina, two strangers who worked with Jareli and brought her to Boysville.
