Becoming Foster Parents on Campus
Boysville's foster care program was implemented to keep larger sibling groups together. Children from infancy to 17 are placed in our foster care program by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Our Foster Parents go through the state's certification process and are provided with on-campus housing; utilities; budget allowances for children's needs etc. Becoming a foster parent is a serious commitment and is not a simple task but is as rewarding as it is challenging. Our Foster Parents are provided with in-house training opportunities, respite care and are eligible for our benefits package.
Boysville is also now accepting applicants living within the Judson ISD for our
NEW Community-Based Foster Parent program. This is not an employee position but Community Foster Parents will be provided with training and case-mgmt support. Please contact our Director of Child Placement, Constance Hood,
chood@boysvilletexas.org for more information.
Also inquire about Respite providers ($100/per day) within our Foster parenting programs.
Becoming Houseparents
Boysville employs Houseparents who are married couples working together as a family unit in one cottage and single relief houseparents who work in two cottages on days when the houseparents are not on duty. It's not a simple or undemanding job, but for the right person, it can be rewarding and satisfying. Houseparents are provided with on-campus housing, transportation, in-house training and administrative support.
Becoming a Youth Care Worker
The Emergency Shelter Youth Care Workers responsibility is to be a positive role model in achieving the goals of the shelter and of the institution as a whole as they are the most directly involved in stabilizing a child in a crisis situation and in the development of a maturing child and a responsible adult.
